FOXBORO, Mass — Although Devin McCourty hasn’t officially hung up the cleats, the longtime Patriots captain spent the NFL’s Divisional Weekend following in his brother Jason’s footsteps, wading into the media waters.

When Tom Brady’s future became the topic of conversation, McCourty made it clear there’s at least one scenario that will make him strap up the pads again.

“What I want him to do? Go back to New England! I’ll go back too if he goes!,” exclaimed McCourty.

Although Brady has said he will take his time making a decision on his future, Buccaneers players reportedly felt the seven-time Super Bowl champion was making his goodbyes after their Wild Card loss to the Cowboys.

One player told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, “I’d be surprised if he’s back.” Another said, “He sounded like a person saying goodbye for good.”

Even if it’s not in New England, McCourty sees Brady teaming up with a former Patriot again.

“He’s going to keep playing. I think a team like the Titans. He has [former Patriots linebacker Mike] Vrabel down there, a guy he played with. Not too far from his family being around the East Coast. Different than going all the way out to Vegas,” said McCourty. “But you go to Tennessee, great running back, good defense, they’ll get some more weapons in there to throw the ball to. I could see Tom right there continuing his great career.”
