WORCESTER, Mass. — First H.E.L.P., the company that specializes in mental health support for first responders, has issued a statement as the search continues for co-founder and missing Worcester woman Karen Solomon.
“Over the past several days, First H.E.L.P. has received an extraordinary outpouring of support, compassion, prayers, and messages from across the public safety community and the general public,” interim president Erin Smith wrote. “On behalf of our Board of Directors and the entire First H.E.L.P. family, we express our profound gratitude and want you to know First H.E.L.P. remains committed to its mission.”
Smith went on to write that the Solomon family is in their thoughts and prayers, adding that the recent incident that occurred does not lessen the company’s work but “underscore the profound complexities of mental health crises and their far-reaching impact on individuals, families, organizations, and entire communities.”
“As we navigate the days ahead, we remain dedicated to treating everyone affected by this tragedy with the utmost compassion and dignity. We remain faithful to our commitment to the families and first responders First H.E.L.P. was created to serve,” Smith said, concluding the statement with thanks and gratitude.

The search for Solomon now enters day five. She is wanted for assault and battery charges in connection with the murder of her husband, Worcester Police Officer Kevin Solomon.
Karen Solomon was last seen walking near the Westside Animal Clinic in the area of Coes Pond early Tuesday morning. The city has since closed down Stearns Tavern and Coes Pond Parks until further notice.
