METHUEN, Mass — The birth dates of her family members led to a big win for Cynthia Holden of Methuen, state lottery officials said.
Holden recently won a total of $800,000 by playing the same set of numbers on eight Mass Cash tickets, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission.
Those winning numbers, played regularly by Holden, represent the birthdays of her family members, lottery officials said. She matched all five numbers drawn in the game’s May 11 drawing.
Holden claimed her winnings on Tuesday at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s claim center in Lawrence.
She purchased her winning tickets at Methuen Package Store at 462 Lowell St. in Methuen.
The store will receive a total of $8,000 bonuses for selling the winning tickets.
