FALL RIVER, Mass. — A Fall River police officer has been fired following an investigation, according to Interim Police Chief Paul Gauvin.
Officer Thomas Roberts has been terminated as a member of the department, effective Wednesday, after engaging in serious misconduct that goes against the department’s rules and regulations.
A hearing officer designated by the city conducted the investigation.
In a statement, Interim Chief Gauvin said they “found substantial evidence that Mr. Roberts engaged in egregious violations of police department rules and regulations related to untruthfulness and conduct unbecoming” of a Fall River police officer.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
