Bringing the heat: Warm temperatures seen throughout the Bay State this month

BOSTON — The heat is rising as we hit mid-May. Businesses that help people stay cool say they are already seeing the bump they usually see in June.

It is already on the hotter side in South Boston on this May day. “Perfect,” one woman said.

Not so perfect for the Jeep with a bad AC. At Abe’s Complete Auto — owner Elie Lakkis is helping customers and their cars keep their cool. “The first week of seeing hot days is when we start noticing people rushing saying I goofed up, I’m here to get my AC worked on,” said Lakkis.

Economy True Value Hardware was helping customers prepare for the heat. Manager Anthony Viscione says they are also seeing a bump. “They are looking for ACs, fans, all of that window insulation stuff to make sure to keep the hot air out and cool air in,” said Viscione.

Overall, people seemed comfortable with the pre-summer heat. “I feel like this is going to be a hot summer. I feel like this is just a taste,” a South Boston woman said.
