BOSTON — Brad Marchand’s wallet is a lot lighter than it was prior to the Bruins’ west coast road trip. The winger was fined the maximum amount possible by the NHL Friday evening.

Marchand was fined $5,000 for what the league deemed a “dangerous trip” on Seattle Kraken forward Oliver Bjorkstrand.

The two forwards began to tussle with 5:38 remaining in the third period of the wild back-and-forth game.

Marchand appears to hook his leg behind Bjorkstrand. The “slew foot” causes Bjorkstrand to tumble onto the ice.

The Bruins would go on to escape Seattle with a 6-5 overtime victory. The Bruins will stay out west as they take on the Vancouver Canucks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
