BOSTON — Whether you enjoy figure skating, hockey, or speed skating, winter is the best time to bundle up and head to your local ice rink.
In a recent study from LawnStarter Boston was ranked 3rd best city for ice skating in the U.S.
Boston is at the top with the second-highest number of ice rinks, tied with Buffalo, New York. Hockey lovers also get to rejoice in the city, which placed third in popularity with the highest combined number of professional and collegiate ice hockey teams.
Boston residents and visitors can go ice skating at The Boston Common Frog Pond in America’s oldest city park. Also, you can take a tour of the historic Fenway Park before lacing up your skates to glide around the nearby Rink at 401 Park.
LawnStarter looked for cities with plenty of access to ice rinks, skating lessons, and hockey equipment. They also considered climate conditions and local popularity based on hockey teams, figure skating competitions, and Google searches.
St. Paul, MN was ranked the best city to ice skate in with New York following closely behind at the 2nd.
