MALDEN, Mass. — The 22-year-old Boston man who was shot and killed outside a 7-Eleven convenience store on Salem Street in Malden has been identified as Daquelle Matthews.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s office told Boston 25 News officers were alerted to the deadly shooting at approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 22-year-old Boston man. He was sent to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Police say they believe the shooting happened after a brief interaction with multiple individuals that resulted in one of them opening fire, striking the victim.
Neighbors tell Boston 25 News they heard what sounded like four back-to-back gunshots, followed by screeching tires.
There are surveillance cameras at this 7-Eleven and it’s still unclear if those cameras captured the murder in the parking lot.
Middlesex D.A. confirmed there are no arrests made at this time. If anyone knows further details regarding this incident, they can contact the Malden Police Department at (781) 322-1212.
