Boston Bruins David Pastrnak announces passing of newborn son

BOSTON — David Pastrnak, a Czech professional ice hockey right winger for the Boston Bruins, announced on Instagram Monday morning the passing of his newborn son.

The Instagram post was uploaded at 2 a.m., saying “We have an Angel watching over us and we call him son. You will be loved forever.”

The Boston Bruins released a statement late Monday morning on the passing of Pastrnak’s son, saying:

“We are heartbroken by the passing of David and Rebecca’s son, Viggo. David and Rebecca are a part of our family and we share in their loss. Please keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy during this very difficult time.”

Pastrnak’s son was born on June 17 and passed away six days later.
