MATTAPAN, Mass — Families in Mattapan received some much-needed help Saturday as the start of the school year creeps closer.
A backpack giveaway at Almont Park gave school kids reliable options to make it through the school year.
Boston-based law firm Altman Nussbaum Shunnarah teamed up with former Patriots long-snapper Lonie Paxton to give away 1,000 backpacks.
Each one had supplies including notebooks and pencils.
