Animal Rescue League of Boston takes in 16 surrendered cats and kittens

Animal Rescue League of Boston takes in 16 surrendered cats and kittens (Animal Rescue League of Boston)

The Animal Rescue League of Boston is caring for over a dozen cats and kittens that were recently surrendered.

Sixteen cats and kittens, including a mother cat and her nursing kittens, were surrendered after their caretaker became overwhelmed.

The kittens will be ready for adoption when they are spayed and neutered when they turn eight weeks old.

The ARL says summer is “kitten season” because the warm weather leads to an uptick in births.

“We are grateful to be able to step in and provide support for both the caretaker and the animals,” said ARL President & CEO Dr. Edward Schettino. “Situations like this are a reminder to us how critical low- and no-cost spay and neuter services are for communities.”

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
