RANDOLPH, Mass. — Officials announced Monday afternoon that police have recovered the body of a missing 86-year-old woman who had last been seen on Saturday at her apartment.
That woman, identified as 86-year-old Marie Depestre, suffered from memory loss and was reported missing after she apparently wandered away from her home on Decelle Drive in the town. Nearly two days later, police reported her body had been recovered in a swampy area less than two miles from her apartment.
“Although there were no obvious signs of foul play, the Medical Examiner has accepted the case for autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of Ms. Depestre’s death,” the Norfolk County DA’s Office said in a release Monday.
