50 years since Lawrence boy disappeared

LAWRENCE, Mass. — It’s been 50 years since 10-yer-old Angelo “Andy” Puglisi vanished from a local pool in Lawrence.

On August 22, 1976, Andy was last seen swimming at Higgins Memorial Pool, approximately 100 yards from his home in the Stadium Housing Projects.

Puglisi’s friend Melanie Perkins told Boston 25 back in 2016 that on that day, she said goodbye to her friend on her way home from the pool. He was never seen alive again.

Perkins has spent much of her adult life looking for her friend. She produced an award-winning documentary for HBO called, “Have You Seen Andy?”
