12-year-old boy hurt in ski accident

A child has been injured in a ski accident.

It happened around 4:30p.m. at Nashoba Valley ski area in Westford.

The manager tells Boston25 a 12-year-old boy hit a tree.

The boy sustained “serious arm and leg injuries” as a result of hitting the tree, but his injuries are considered “non-life threatening” according to Westford Police.

The boy was first treated on scene by the Nashoba Valley Ski Patrol along with Westford Fire Department, before being flown to Children’s Hospital in Boston by medical helicopter, according to officials.

The incident remains under investigation by the Westford Police Department.
