WHITEFIELD, N.H. — Authorities are investigating a suspicious death and multiple injuries involving family members in a town in New Hampshire early Tuesday morning.

Officers were initially called to the Hilltop Manor neighborhood in the Coos County town of Whitefield for a report of a vehicle being driven erratically before being directed to a nearby home, where Attorney General John M. Formella said they found three adult family members suffering from various injuries.

Police also responded to a local hospital, where a fourth adult family member was found being treated for an injury.

A man found inside the home was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A woman and another man were taken to area hospitals and continue to receive treatment. The fourth injured family member also remains hospitalized.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved or commented on the severity of the other three injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

Officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
