Eight local supermarkets are being sold.
Hannaford is selling the stores as part of a merger with the parent company of Stop & Shop.
The stores being sold include locations in Norwood, Kingston and North Quincy.
All eight stores have been purchased by Big Y.
The sale and the merger are both expected to be approved by the end of the month.
