If you thought the legroom in economy couldn’t get any tighter, you’re in for a rude awakening.
CNN Money reported that the airline will decrease the space between some of its seats in economy class by another two inches.
American Airlines told CNN Money that it plans on adding more seats to its new Boeing 737 Max jetliners, and in order to do that it needs to shrink the distance between seats from 31 inches to 29 inches on three rows of the aircraft and down to 30-inches in the rest of economy, CNN Money reported.
That move will make American Airlines the first large U.S. carrier that will offer legroom with a pitch that’s nearly on-par with low-cost airlines like Spirit and Frontier.
