LAWRENCE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Lawrence District Court officer was charged with raping a female inmate on Wednesday, according to the Essex District Attorney's Office.
Jose F. Martinez, 46, faces three counts of rape and is also charged with four counts of indecent assault and battery following an investigation by the Massachusetts State Police in which he is accused of raping a shackled inmate three times.
Martinez will be arraigned in Lawrence District Court Wednesday afternoon.
