Juror who convicted 'Whitey' Bulger says she's now friends with him

BOSTON — A juror who convicted "Whitey" Bulger now says she is friends with the jailed Boston mob boss.

According to the Cape Cod Times, Janet Uhlar-Tinney has received 35 letters from Bulger since his trial. She also traveled to Florida to visit him in a federal prison.

Bulger is serving two life sentences after being convicted of racketeering and taking part in 11 murders.

Uhlar-Tinney says she first wrote to Bulger because she did not believe she heard the truth about some of his alleged crimes during the trial.
