Jerry Remy announces he's cancer free 'for now & hopefully forever'

BOSTON — Legendary Jerry Remy is back at it with some incredible news!

The MLB broadcaster and former MLB second baseman took to Twitter Saturday morning to announce his scans came back since starting his cancer treatment.

Remy said the treatment was "highly successful" and celebrated being "cancer free for now and hopefully forever."

He was first diagnosed with lung cancer 10 years ago, and has since faced multiple recurrences of the disease. Most recently, a portion of his lung had to be removed to combat the cancer.
