CHELSEA, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Chelsea Fire Arson Unit is investigating a flood that forced nearly 200 people out of their apartments early Saturday morning.
According to police at around 3 a.m. someone disconnected a main water source on the sixth floor of an 11-story building at the Broadway Glen Apartments.
"The water was just coming through; there was no way to stop it,” Shannon Katramados said. "Out the door we looked there's a river of water coming down the hall, nasty brown water."
Police say that for about 10 minutes water poured throughout the building. Residents said they believe someone at a late night party opened the valve as a prank.
During the evacuation two people were hospitalized for chest pains.
