A man working as a teacher at a private school in Hingham was arrested after allegedly assaulting one of his students in a classroom in October, according to Hingham Police.
Police say 53-year-old Scituate native Matthew Browne, who was working as a teacher at the Saint Paul's School in Hingham, turned himself at the Hingham Police station Wednesday, three months after the alleged incident.

Browne was arraigned Wednesday and charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and assault and battery.
Police say he was then released, and is due back in court March 1.
