BOSTON — A weekend in Maine can be the perfect getaway for Mass. travelers.

Gov. Janet Mills announced in a press conference today that Mass. is now exempt from Maine’s COVID-19 testing or quarantine requirement due to decreased positivity and active case rates.

Massachusetts’ COVID-19 numbers have been trending downward, with fewer deaths, cases and high-risk communities, according to the state’s DPH.

Travelers from Connecticut and Rhode Island are also exempt. New Hampshire and Vermont had previously been exempt.

Additionally, those who recently had COVID-19 or been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, regardless of their state of origin, are exempt as well.
