Local Costco stores making changes after 25 Investigates reveals young shoppers during ‘seniors only’ hours

BOSTON — After our report, Costco announced it will only allow seniors and people with disabilities to shop during the daily special shopping hour.

A regional manager for the warehouse club emailed John Jacobs, the 66-year old viewer whose tip prompted our investigation, informing him the company decided to change its policy statewide.

It reads in part: “Until the need ends, we will offer senior shopping between 8:30 and 9:30 seven days per week in Massachusetts. We will be excluding Instacart shoppers between these times.”
