CANTON, Mass.(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Animal rights activists and local neighbors are protesting the state's decision to allow deer hunting in the Blue Hills.
Friends of the Blue Hills said they are concerned for the deer and public safety.
Wildlife officials approved the deer hunt, which allows for 196 hunters to kill deer over four days. It will be a controlled hunt, with shotguns only, in the areas north of I-93. The hunt is supposed to help control the deer population, which officials say is causing a problem with vegetation.
