Grieving mother asks for thief to return hospital bracelets from her late son

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - A grieving mother's heartbreak was made a little worse when someone stole one of the last things that connects her with the son she lost.

Brison was four months old, when mom Casey Kilcup left him for the first overnight, in the care of his grandparents.

It was the last time she ever saw him.

"We never thought a child death could touch us,” Kilcup said.

The autopsy isn't yet complete, but Kilcup said she believes it was sudden infant death syndrome.

"We miss him every day.  We think of every milestone,” she said.

In her despair to hold on to Brison, Kilcup has kept everything of his.

"Everything he touched, came near, everything,” she said. "For us, every little thing of his has been savored."

But there's one thing that she could keep close by, to look when things got really low.

"Everything has been sealed and put away to try and preserve every little bit of him, every smell everything. The hospital bracelets were the only thing that could fit in our bag, in my wallet to be able to carry with me," she said.

She said her wallet was stolen out of her car in the driveway. She brought her daughter inside the house, and when she came back to get it was gone,

But she said she doesn't want to make a villain out of whoever did this.  She wants to forgive.

In fact, she says in her Facebook post that she already has. And, she says, she even sympathizes with them.

"What they did was terrible, but they're not a terrible person. They're just somebody who needs help right now, who's lost, who doesn't know what else to do,” she said.

Casey said she doesn't care about anything else that was taken--only the bracelets.

They can be left anytime, anywhere, no questions asked. To have them again, would repair a tiny piece of her heart.
