Glenn Frey, founding member of the Eagles, dies at 67

NEW YORK — Glenn Frey, a founding member of the Eagles band, has died at age 67.

The Eagles were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.

Frey sang, played guitar and co-wrote most of the band's hits, including "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," "Hotel California" and "Desperado."

Frey was a successful artist on his own after The Eagles broke up in 1980.

He reunited with The Eagles for the 1994 Hell Freezes Over tour.

He released his final solo LP, "After Hours," in 2012.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York...
