FOX25 Investigates: 6 Level 3 sex offenders living in same Lynn home

LYNN, Mass. — Residents of one Lynn neighborhood are concerned for the safety of their children after learning about a home on Light Street where six Level 3 sex offenders live.

This is the second home where multiple sex offenders live uncovered by FOX25 Investigates, and there is little that can be done to stop it.

"I fear for my kids, but I protect them too. Being a single parent I have to keep eyes on them," one woman who lives near the Lynn home told FOX25.

The home at 41 Light St. is a rooming house, with up to 30 rooms available according to police.

Six of the men in that home are listed on the Sex Offender Registry as Level 3 offenders, meaning they are considered most likely to reoffend.

Some of those men have even been convicted of forcible rape of a child and indecent assault and batter in a child under 14.

"The kids just go about their business. They don't really concern themselves with who is standing outside 41, but I do. Because I know what's in there," a mother said.

The city attempted to pass regulations last year that would prevent Level 3 offenders from living near schools and parks, but it was stricken down by the Supreme Judicial Court.

Lynn police told FOX25 they are aware of the sex offenders and check on them, but there's nothing else they can do if the men don't break any laws and remain registered.
