BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A woman accused of robbing several banks in the Boston area was arrested by the FBI on Monday.
Members of the FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force told FOX 25 that 46-year-old Johanna Quish, of Dorchester, has formally been charged with robbing the Sovereign Bank on Boylston Street; however, authorities believe Quish hit three Boston banks in a few hours on Friday.
Police believe that a week after the Boylston Street robbery the suspect hit the Sovereign Bank on Gallivan Boulevard in Dorchester, but her spree did not stop there.
Quish allegedly hit the Citizens Bank on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester and almost got away with $1,000, but the dye pack exploded on her. She then proceeded to the Mount Washington Bank in Jamaica Plain where she passed a note to the teller demanding cash, but was denied.
Police say Quish then went back to Dorchester and robbed the Members Credit Union on Gallivan Boulevard. On that attempt, she managed to get away with $1,300.
The Bank Robbery Task Force said that once the surveillance footage aired during the FOX 25 newscast on Friday they started getting tips, and Quish was placed under surveillance.
The Massachusetts State Police stopped her car and picked her up on Monday.
Quish is being held at the Saugus Police Headquarters and is due in court on Tuesday.
