BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Four Brockton men were arrested Tuesday after a fight broke out inside Brockton's Westgate Mall.
According to the Brockton Enterprise, the brawl started at about 5:30 p.m. in Foot Locker and then spilled into Popeye's.
Antonio Martins, 17, was charged with affray and vandalizing property. Martins was seen in surveillance video taking a glass jar filled with rice off the shelf and hurling it at another person involved. Derrick Pleasant, 20, and Brandon Hill, 18, are charged with affray. Joshua Taylor, 22, will be charged with affray, two counts of felony malicious damage and intimidation of a witness.
When police arrived at Popeye's, shards of glass were on the floor and chairs had also been flung, the newspaper reported. A woman suffered a broken nose. No other serious injuries were reported.
Restaurant staff were forced to close their doors for about an hour to clean up the broken glass and allow police to investigate.
Police said it was unclear whether the fight was gang-related.
The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Brockton District Court. Others will likely face charges, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
