SUMMIT, NJ (MyFoxBoston.com) - Former New England Patriot Jermaine Cunningham faces a series of criminal charges that began when police arrived at his Summit, New Jersey home on Monday afternoon Dec. 29.
The following investigation by police landed Cunningham in legal hot water. He's accused of criminal mischief and invasion of privacy along with a weapons charge. According to police, the mischief and privacy charges involve a woman police say used to live with Cunningham and may involve sharing sexual images without her consent. The weapon, a loaded .380 handgun, was found in glove compartment of his car, according to police.
Cunningham was a 2010 second-round Patriots draft pick who was released by the team in 2013. He later signed with the Jets, but suffered a Achilles injury.
Cunningham was booked and then released on his own recognizance. He is expected to appear in court to answer to the charges later this month.
