First confirmed sighting of teacher and kidnapped student, says TBI

OKLAHOMA CITY — A 15-year-old Tennessee student and her former teacher who allegedly kidnapped her, were seen at an Oklahoma City Walmart, according to a KOKH report.

Two weeks earlier on March 13, Thomas went missing with the former teacher in Maury County, Tennessee.  Cummins was fired by the school after allegations of inappropriate contact with the student.

On March 31, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that surveillance photos from March 15th show Elizabeth Thomas and 50-year-old Tad Cummins.

In these first sightings since the kidnapping, Thomas now appears to have red hair in the surveillance photos, KOKH reports.  Cummins’ hair also appears to be darker.  The police describe Thomas as having hazel eyes, weighing 120 pounds and standing at approximately 5-foot.

Cummins is around 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is currently on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” list.

The last known vehicle Cummins was known to be driving was a silver Nissan Rogue with the Tennessee tag 976-ZPT.  The police believe Cummins is armed with two handguns.
