Authorities say all residents are accounted for, although two firefighters were hurt. An Everett firefighter had a respiratory issue and a Brookline firefighter suffered a knee injury.
Thirty-five to 45 people were displaced by the fire and are now being assisted by the Red Cross.
About 150 firefighters from more than a dozen departments battled the blaze.
The neighborhood consists of closely packed three-story, wood-frame homes.
