STURBRIDGE, Mass. — The woman who died after a crashing into a tractor-trailer early Monday on Route 49 in Sturbridge has been identified.
Massachusetts State Police said Kelly Lacroix, 50, of Spencer, was killed after pulling out in front of a car carrier Monday.
State Police said a tractor-trailer car carrier was traveling in the southbound lane on Route 49 when a Buick LaCrosse, driven by Lacroix, traveling westbound on Podunk Road stopped at the intersection with Route 49. State Police said it appears Lacroix then pulled out in front of the tractor-trailer, attempting to go southbound.
Lacroix was deceased at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 54-year-old man from Manchester, New Hampshire, had non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Harrington Hospital, State Police said.
The crash is being investigated by a number of agencies, including State Police Sturbridge Barracks and MassDOT.
