Dropkick Murphy's band member to buy Dorchester pub

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A member of the Dropkick Murphy's is planning to buy a pub in Dorchester.

Ken Casey and a team of buyers are involved in a deal to buy the Lower Mills Pub, according to the Dorchester Reporter. The pub is one of the oldest in the city and the new owners reportedly plan to renovate and add a kitchen.

The name of the pub has yet to be released, but Casey told the Reporter that it will be family friendly.

"It would definitely be a nice tavern with TVs, but we definitely want to put some focus on food," Casey told the Reporter. "It probably won't have the biggest kitchen in the world, but we will put one in there.”

Casey also owns McGreevey's in Boston and Whiskey Republic in Providence. He's also reportedly working on another eatery in the South End of Beantown.

The sale of the Lower Mills Pub should be final by the end of the month.
