DRACUT, Mass. — A Dracut man was arraigned Monday on one count of possessing child porn, according to state and local investigators.
Last month, Dracut police said they received a tip from the Massachusetts State Police Computer Crimes Unit that child porn had been traced to Michael Murphy, 58, who was allegedly accessing child porn from his home.
Police executed a search warrant on Murphy’s electronic devices Monday, which allegedly resulted in Dracut police locating several images of child porn.
He was arrested and was arraigned in Lowell District Court.
The judge set Murphy’s bail at $1,000, and ordered him to have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18, to not work with or volunteer with children under the age of 18, to not possess computers or computer devices and to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet.
His next court date was set for May 25.
