DNA of man accused in Lynn teacher's death found at scene, specialist testifies

The murder trial continued Thursday for the man accused of killing his wife, a beloved elementary school teacher in Lynn. In court, prosecutors showed never-before-seen footage of Vanessa MacCormack from the day before she died.

Surveillance video showed MacCormack arriving at the Planet Fitness in Revere around 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 22, 2017, where she spent about an hour.

The next day, her husband Andrew MacCormack was arrested for stabbing her to death.

Prosecutors called an investigator to the stand who testified MacCormack was found with blood on his clothes and shoes. A DNA specialist testified the man's DNA was found all over the scene.

"Andrew MacCormack is consistent with the major profile," said Jessica Hart, Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab Unit.

Court ended in the middle of testimony that showed the couple exchanged several phone calls on the day Vanessa died.

There will be no testimony on Friday. The prosecution will continue with the witness on Monday.
