HANSON, Mass. — A person was struck by a train early Wednesday morning in Hanson, causing delays on the Kingston/Plymouth line.
According to transit police, a trespasser was hit by Kingston Train 032 (5:30 a.m. inbound) at Hanson Station just after 6 a.m.
Kingston Train 032 (5:30a inbound) remains stopped at Hanson Station due to police activity on the right of way and is 30-40 minutes behind schedule.

Transit Police said a male, age unknown at this time, trespassed the right of way in the area of 1070 Main Street and was struck by the inbound commuter rail train.
The victim was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
The incident caused delays of 30 to 40 minutes on the Kingston/Plymouth line at the start of the morning rush hour.
All Kingston/Plymouth Line trains will experience severe delays this morning due to police activity in the right of way at Hanson Station.

Service has since resumed on the Kingston/Plymouth lines, but residual delays still persist.
Other commuter rail lines were also affected by the delays.
Hanson Police said Route 27, where the Hanson MBTA station is located, will be closed from Elm Street to Phillips Street for several hours and are asking people to seek alternate routes.
