Deflategate cakes, 'Monster Brady' cookies for sale at Indy bakery

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis bakery has whipped up a few special batches of treats ahead of this weekend’s Colts-Patriots game, which is being billed as having an epic revenge factor.

It was during the team's last matchup, the AFC Championship game in which the Patriots trounced the Colts 45-7, that the Colts complained about the air in the footballs, kicking off the much-hyped "Deflategate" investigation. The NFL's months-long investigation led to Brady being suspended, which was eventually overturned, and threatened to tarnish the reputation of the Super Bowl champions.

Taylor's Bakery, billed as the "oldest bakery in the state of Indiana," is offering some choice desserts for Colts fans.

First, there are the Tom Brady “Monster” cookies, with a quite good interpretation of the terrible courtroom sketch of Tom Brady that went viral during the Deflategate investigation.

Then there are the “Broken Cell Phone” cookies, in reference to Brady’s refusal to hand over his phone to NFL investigators, who were seeking information about Brady’s role in football air pressure tampering.

The icing on the cake (pun intended) is a “deflategate cake.” On sale today, Colts fans can pick up the deflated football shaped cake for $15.
Not that we are keeping score, but Sunday's meeting between the Colts and Patriots is the first since New England beat Indy 45-7 in the AFC Championship in January.
