DANVERS, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- It's been one year since Danvers High School teacher Colleen Ritzer was murdered. On Tuesday, the school plans to honor the math teacher's memory.
The school will pause for a moment of silence after the morning announcements.
A remembrance board has been set up in the school's atrium for students and staff to write down memories for Ritzer's family. Social workers will also be on hand.
A student, 15-year-old Phillip Chism, has been charged with Ritzer's murder. Prosecutors say he followed her into a school bathroom, sexually assaulted her and then killed her.
Chism will be tried as an adult and is awaiting trial.
