Massachusetts Turnpike drivers are in luck! Cumberland Farms will pick up the toll tab for travelers on the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) passing through the Allston/Brighton, Natick and Weston toll plazas from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.
Cash customers must still stop at the toll, but booth operators will be giving drivers a small gift from Cumberland Farms. E-ZPass holders will receive a credit on their monthly statement. Holders will also receive details about Cumberland Farms' SmartPay Check-Link program.
In 2012, MassDOT logged approximately 12,000 toll transactions at the sponsored plazas on the Friday before St. Patrick's Day.
The Cumberland Farms SmartPay Check-Link payment program allows users to pay for gas and in-store purchases using their mobile phone or with a swipe of a card.
