Woman awaiting arraignment in stabbing death of mother

MALDEN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Malden woman was arrested in connection with the murder of her mother.

Police responded to two different 911 calls at around 10:30 a.m. to an address on Main Street. When first responders arrived, they found 58-year-old Marie Luxama suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to Whidden Hospital in Everett, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

"While this is still an active investigation we have information which indicates the victim was stabbed by her daughter," Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement."It appears this is another unfortunate incident of an adult child involved in a violent episode with a parent."

Police arrested Luxama's daughter 24-year-old Sharlyn Savain at the scene.

The district attorney's office and police continue to investigate.
