Concord supermarket closing its doors after nearly a century

CONCORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Concord business is closing its doors for the last time on Saturday after nearly 100 years of operation.

The West Concord Supermarket was opened by the Mandrioli family back in 1919. After careful consideration, the store's owners have decided to close, reports Wicked Local Concord.

Peter and Paul Mandrioli inherited the business that was originally opened by their grandfather, John. The brothers say several factors went into their decision to close, among them the long hours, lack of vacations, and decrease in business.

The Mandrioli family has sold the building to another Concord couple. There is no word on what will be moving into the space.
