Captured fugitive arraigned on 2011 double murder charges

BOSTON — A Dorchester man wanted by U.S. Marshals and on the run for almost five years is finally being brought back to Massachusetts to answer to double murder charges.

Jean Weevens Janvier, 34, killed two sisters in Dorchester in 2011, according to Boston police.

He was indicted for the murders in 2012 and was arrested earlier this month in Haiti. The Dorchester man was brought back to the commonwealth to be arraigned on charges Thursday.

Janvier faces two counts of first degree murder after he allegedly shot Stephanie and Judith Emilie execution-style and left a 2-year-old alone with the bodies on Nov. 14, 2011.

Janvier went on the run shortly afterward and was added to the U.S. Marshals’ ‘most wanted’ list in Dec. 2016.
