Cambridge shootings: Two people sent to hospital with arm injuries

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Police are investigating after two separate shootings in Cambridge sent two people to the hospital.

The first shooting happened at 12:17 a.m. on Cambridge Street and Fifth Street on Saturday morning.

A Cambridge man was shot in his arm while sitting in a car, and was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which weren't deemed to be life-threatening.

The second shooting happened about one hour later at 1:23 a.m. on Washington Street and Cherry Street, where another man was shot in the arm.

The Somerville native was also taken to the hospital, and his injuries were also not thought to be life-threatening.

Several shell casings were found in the area in both shootings, and two cars and one home on Cherry Street were hit by bullets in the incident.
