BOSTON — Wednesday night the newly expanded safety nets at Fenway Park were still not enough to stop a broken bat from flying into the crowd.
The Red Sox confirmed for FOX25 that the broken bat cleared the netting and hit a fan.
The team says ballpark medical personnel treated that fan for a minor injury with an ice pack but the fan did not need further treatment.
Dylan Santos tweeted FOX25's story and confirmed that he was hit, but was able to stay at the game.
Yeah that was me, all good here though, going to take more than that to get a die hard sox fan to leave the game! https://t.co/Toi3Htxq6H
