BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man who was found dead inside an apartment on Sunday has been identified.
Just before 10 a.m., a person called 911 saying that a person in the third-floor apartment at 223/225 Belmont St., also known as 75 Brett St., was not breathing. Emergency responders found Daniel Esdale, 25, of Brockton, dead of a gunshot wound to the head.
The medical examiner determined the death was a homicide.
The mayor of Brockton, chief of police, and family of the victim were reportedly on the scene Sunday afternoon.
Brockton police and the Plymouth County District Attorney's office are both investigating the murder, but did not release further information. Anyone who has information is asked to call (508)947-8087 or (508)941-0234.
