NORTON, Mass. — The husband of a woman killed in Norton has been charged with her murder.
DISCOVERING THE BODY
Police received a 911 call just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday about a woman in a Holmes Street apartment being stabbed. When officers arrived at the scene, the woman was found unresponsive.
The woman, identified as 34-year-old Julie A. Meede, was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to police several children were inside the home at the time of the attack. One of them, an 11-year-old, called 911 to report the stabbing then went to a neighbor's apartment.
“She came in here, crying and all upset. She had blood on her and she just kept saying he killed her mother,” Cheryl Applebee, a neighbor, said.

HUSBAND IN NEARBY CRASH
Just after the initial 911 call about Meade, police were alerted to a two-car crash on Route 495 in Norton. Police say a Dodge Ram pickup had been traveling southbound when it crossed the median and entered the other side of the highway, crashing into a Nissan.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was identified as Meede's estranged husband, 35-year-old Martin McDonald. The driver of the Nissan, a 30-year-old Smithfield, R.I. woman, was seriously injured in the crash and taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
At the scene of the crash the husband allegedly told police "You better cuff me. I just stabbed my wife. She's in Norton."
