Boy scout leader, teacher accused of enticing children online

WHITINSVILLE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 34-year-old lawyer from Whitinsville, who is also a Boy Scout leader and part-time middle school teacher, is facing child pornography charges.

Andrew J. Myers was arrested on Tuesday morning and charged with possessing child pornography and enticing children.

Massachusetts investigators were made aware of Myers' alleged contact with a Colorado minor after a concerned mother contacted police. The mother claimed her 12-year-old son was in contact with a man who claimed to be 33 years old. The man would contact the 12-year-old via e-mail or Skype and entice the child to engage in sexual acts.

Police in Larimer County, Colorado, requested the assistance of the Northbridge Police Department after they reportedly identified the man as Andrew Myers.

Myers is also accused of communicating with at least three males, believed to be minors, via e-mail and offering to perform sexual acts on them. Investigators claim Myers received e-mails containing nude images of underage boys.

Myers faces a minimum of 10 years if found guilty of enticement and up to 10 years for possession of child pornography.
