Exclusive: Video shows armed thieves steal $5K in brazen daytime robbery

LYNNFIELD, Mass. — In video obtained exclusively by Boston 25 News, armed thieves are seen storming a Lynnfield store Sunday and getting away with nearly $5,000.

The dramatic incident was reported around 6:30 p.m. at the Pump'n Pantry Station on Main Street.

The surveillance video shows a clerk mopping the floor behind the counter when two masked, hooded men entered the store armed with knives.

The worker was told not to make any sudden movements.

Boston 25 News spoke with the store manager who said from now on he'll be keeping an ax behind the counter.

"Before this I was thinking safe in Lynnfield, but now it's dangerous here, too," manager Vinod Zaveri said. "Any quiet town, and you can get into trouble. So I don't know what to say. Now I have to watch and be careful, too."

The robbers were able to get away with about $5,000 from the register.

The store manager said in his 13 years working in Lynnfield, he's never seen anything like this and always felt this was a safe community.

Lynnfield police also have the store surveillance video and are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police.
